"Content in Provincetown"

Race Point Lighthouse - Provincetown

"Content in Provincetown"

It won't be long will soon be there
This place we love so much
In Provincetown you more than see
You breathe, you taste, you touch.

We live each day to reach our goal
To be there once again
For nothing brings us inner peace
The way that P-Town can.

The time it seems to go so slow
We gaze on line each day
Then suddenly we're almost there
Sweet P-Town by the bay.

Each year we run into old friends
Each year new friends we meet
It is our home there is no doubt
Our calmness our retreat.

The countdown starts the day we leave
It's where we strive to be
This place that lingers in our minds
Contentment by the sea.

"Lesson learned in Provincetown"

Lesson Learned in Provincetown

There's snow tonight in Provincetown
The benches so empty.
Commercial Street without a soul
So peaceful by the sea.

The winter's cold the people scarce
Some gone to warmer shores
The opposite of summer days
Few restaurants, few stores

Remembering when I was young
I'd come with family
As soon as we were old enough
My sister, friends and me.

This town would always speak to us
So softly we would hear
"In Provincetown we welcome all
There is no need to fear"

I've always felt so out of place
When here, can just be me
This town has taught me kindness, love
This jewel by the sea.
